When I was young I climbed them for fun, got older and raked their leaves for spending money, got still older and cut some down for firewood to stay warm in the Winter, got still older and enjoyed their shade while sipping lemonade with my grandchilden on a hot Summer's day, got even still older and noticed that most big trees were a lot older than me, felt younger...
Whit, I love your blog and I love The picture of this tree. My favorite thing to do as a kid was to climb trees. I miss climbing them and the view from the top. But I love just being near them now. They stand so firmly in their place watching us all rush by season after season! Enjoy yours this spring!
